Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) (JCDR-HS) 

The Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) (JCDR-HS) aims to establish highly effective communication channels for the dissemination of academic knowledge, innovative research, and transformative ideas. It serves as a valuable academic reference for research professionals, scholars, and graduate-level students worldwide.

JCDR-HS is dedicated to publishing high-quality, original research articles, review articles, and academic articles. The journal specifically welcomes interdisciplinary manuscripts that contribute directly or indirectly to the advancement and sustainability of community development.

Our scope encompasses a diverse range of disciplines within the humanities and social sciences, including:

  • Linguistics, Humanities, and Fine Arts
  • Applied Arts (Music)
  • Social Sciences, Law, and Education
  • Business Administration, Economics, and Communications
  • and other related disciplines.

About the Journal

Editorial and Publication Policies

  • Peer Review Process: JCDR-HS employs a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Each submission undergoes evaluation by at least three independent experts in the relevant fields of humanities and social sciences to ensure the highest academic quality.
  • Originality and Submission: Submitted articles must be original, have not been previously published, and are not currently under review or consideration for publication in other journals. Manuscripts must be submitted through the official JCDR-HS online submission system.
  • Plagiarism Screening: All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using standard detection software prior to entering the peer-review process.
  • Publication Fee (APC): JCDR-HS is an open-access journal.

Copyright & Authority: Any reproduction of published articles requires written consent from the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board of Naresuan University Journals holds the final authority on the approval of research articles for publication, and all decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

User Rights and Non-Commercial Use JCDR-HS allows for the non-commercial use of published articles in accordance with the Creative Commons license terms.

  • What is PERMITTED (Non-Commercial): Users may freely use, share, and cite the articles for educational, personal, teaching, and academic research purposes, provided that proper credit and attribution are given to the original authors and the journal.
  • What is PROHIBITED (Commercial): Users are strictly prohibited from using the published materials, either in whole or in part, for any commercial gains, advertising, marketing, or fee-based distribution platforms without prior written authorization from the Editorial Board.

Open-Access Policy

The Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) (JCDR-HS) is committed to the free dissemination of knowledge. We provide immediate open access to all published contents, allowing the public to read and download articles free of charge to promote global scholarly exchange.

All articles in JCDR-HS are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). Under this policy, users are permitted to download and share the work with proper attribution, but the materials cannot be changed, adapted, or used for any commercial purposes without prior written permission from the Editorial Board.


Peer Review Process

The Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) (JCDR-HS) employs a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, objectivity, and scholarly publishing. Under this policy, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept strictly confidential throughout the entire evaluation process.

Peer Review Workflow and Criteria:

  • Initial Editorial Screening: Upon submission, all manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editorial Board for relevance to the journal’s scope, adherence to formatting guidelines, and plagiarism screening. Manuscripts that do not meet the baseline criteria will be rejected at this stage.
  • Expert Evaluation: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least three independent expert reviewers who possess specialized expertise in the relevant fields of humanities and social sciences.
  • Reviewer Selection Policy: To avoid conflicts of interest, reviewers are selected from institutions other than the authors' home institutions.
  • Final Decision: Based on the detailed feedback and recommendations from the three reviewers, the Editorial Board will make the final decision regarding publication (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject). The editorial decisions are final and not subject to appeal

Types of Articles

The Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) (JCDR-HS) accepts and publishes the following categories of manuscripts:

1) Research Article

  • Definition: A written work that systematically presents original research results, empirical data, and new knowledge contributing to the field.
  • Required Structure: Must include an Abstract, Introduction (including background and theoretical frameworks), Research Objectives, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and Recommendations.
  • Length: Typically between 5,000 – 8,000 words (including references, tables, and figures), or not exceeding 20 pages of the journal's template.

2) Review Article

  • Definition: An article that provides a comprehensive, critical evaluation and summary of previously published research on a specific topic, offering a new perspective, identifying research gaps, and directing future states of related fields.
  • Required Structure: Must include an Abstract, Introduction, Categorized Literature Analysis/Themes, Critical Discussion, Conclusion, and Future Research Directions.
  • Length: Typically between 6,000 – 10,000 words, with a substantial and up-to-date reference list.

3) Academic Article

  • Definition: A scholarly work or conceptual paper that analyzes, synthesizes, or critiques an interesting subject, concepts, or theoretical frameworks to propose a new body of knowledge or intellectual viewpoint.
  • Required Structure: Must include an Abstract, Introduction, Main Body Content (divided into structured sub-headings by the author), Synthesis/Discussion, and Conclusion.
  • Length: Typically between 4,000 – 6,000 words.

Article Processing Charges (APC) and Submission Fees

To support the cost of journal operations, manuscript management, and open-access publishing, the Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) (JCDR-HS) charges a non-refundable submission fee based on the affiliation of the first and/or corresponding author.

Payment Workflow and Timeline

  1. Initial Screening: Every submitted manuscript undergoes an initial screening for scope, formatting, plagiarism, and linguistic quality (typically taking up to 2 weeks).
  2. Payment Notification: Only manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening will proceed to the peer-review stage. The journal coordinator will then notify the corresponding author via email with official transfer details.
  3. Payment Deadline: The submission fee must be transferred within 1 week (7 days) from the date of the notification letter.
  4. Proof of Payment: Authors must email their payment slip/proof of transfer to the official journal email: jcdr-hs@nu.ac.th
  5. Peer Review Commencement: Once the payment is verified, the Editorial Board will immediately appoint three anonymous expert reviewers to begin the double-blind peer-review process.

Important Note: Please be advised that payment of the submission fee does not guarantee acceptance for publication. The final decision depends entirely on the academic quality of the manuscript and the outcome of the peer-review process.
