GUIDELINES FOR PROMOTING SELF-DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO ISLAMIC PRINCIPLESOF STUDENTS OF THE MUSLIM RELATIONS CLUB NAKHON SI THAMMARAT RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This study aims to examine the self-development according to Islamic principles among members of the Muslim Friendship Club at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, as well as to explore ways to promote such development. The key informants consist of eight individuals: six student members of the Muslim Friendship Club and two faculty advisors. The research tool used is an interview form, and the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The research findings reveal the following: 1) Self-development according to Islamic principles among the students includes: 1) Practices towards God: Students follow the five pillars of Islam—declaration of faith (Shahada), performing prayer (Salat), fasting during Ramadan (Sawm), giving alms (Zakat), and pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj). 2) Human relations: Positive interactions begin with a smile and greeting during first encounters, as well as maintaining good manners in actions, speech, and thoughts. 3) Personal development: Students engage in learning new things and reflect on their weaknesses in order to improve themselves. 2) Guidelines for promoting self-development based on Islamic principles include: 1) Moral and ethical training: Organizing moral and ethical training camps to cultivate inner values. 2) Club activities: Promoting beneficial use of free time through friendship-building activities. 3) Creating supplementary careers: Encouraging students to earn additional income through various means available during their studies.
