BUDDHIST ETHICS STUDY OF LOCAL LEADERS : ACASE STUDY OF THE ELECTION OF MOJOR OF RATCHABURI PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION

Abstract

This academic article aims to study the Buddhist ethics of local leaders, a case study of the election of the mayor of Ratchaburi Provincial Administrative Organization. The results of the study found that after being elected to the position, local leaders must administer the local administration in an orderly and efficient manner, be responsible, honest, reasonable, create unity, be kind, compassionate, and fair, including diligence in looking after the community's benefits more than personal benefits according to Buddhist principles. It is necessary to know the law, the scope of administration, know the clear governance system, and what is indispensable is morality and ethics, and have the characteristics of good governance, which are the principles of law at the international level and the principles of Dharma used in local governance, which consist of kindness, which is the desire for everyone in the community to be happy and useful, which is to receive equal benefits.
