Graduate Training Program on Research Article Quality Evaluation for National and International Journal Publication in Private Universities, Thailand
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to:1.examine the effectiveness of a training program on the evaluation of research article quality for publication in national and international journals among graduate students in private universities in Thailand;2.develop a practical training model that enhances participants’ knowledge, analytical skills, and ability to assess research article quality; and 3.evaluate participants’ satisfaction with the training program.A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating both quantitative and qualitative research. Research instruments included questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The sample comprised 150 graduate students selected through the Taro Yamane formula at a 0.05 error level using accidental sampling. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (percentage, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (t-test and F-test), while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis from interviews and document reviews. The findings revealed that:1)the training program significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of quality assessment criteria and standards for research article publication;2)the developed model effectively improved participants’ analytical and evaluative competencies; and3)participants expressed a high level of satisfaction, highlighting the interactive and practice-oriented format as beneficial to their learning. These results suggest that similar training programs can serve as effective tools for improving academic and research evaluation competencies among graduate students in higher education institutions.
