MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVENESS OF THE NONTHABURI PROVINCIAL MEDITATION CENTER NO. 8, CHOENG LEN TEMPLE, PAK KRET DISTRICT, NONTHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article aimed to: 1. study the level of management of the 8th Nonthaburi Provincial Meditation Center at Wat Choeng Len, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province; 2. examine the relationship between administrative factors and the management effectiveness of the meditation center; and 3. present the management effectiveness of the meditation center. This study employed a mixed-methods research design. For the quantitative research, the sample consisted of 385 meditation practitioners. The research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. For the qualitative research, structured interviews were conducted with 10 key informants, consisting of heads of meditation centers in Nonthaburi Province and relevant stakeholders. The qualitative data were analyzed using descriptive content analysis.

The findings revealed that 1. The overall management of the meditation center was at a high level. 2. The 4M administrative factors had a strong positive relationship with the management effectiveness of the meditation center. 3. The management effectiveness of the meditation center consisted of two components: 1. the 4M administrative factors, comprising personnel, with the selection of personnel possessing appropriate knowledge and specific competencies; budget, with specific budget allocations for the meditation center; materials, with sufficient materials and equipment provided for meditation practice; and management, with clearly defined strategies and goals for the meditation center; and 2. management effectiveness, comprising productivity, which enabled more people to participate in meditation practice; efficiency, through the effective use of available budgets; satisfaction, reflected in practitioners’ increased interest in meditation practice; adaptability, reflected in greater unity and harmony among practitioners; and development, which enabled practitioners to conduct themselves properly in accordance with Buddhist principles.
