FISCAL POLICY AND NEW PUBLIC MANAGEMENT ACCORDING TO BUDDHISM

Abstract

Fiscal policy was very important to national administration, especially new public management because the state must manage the country in relation to the country's income and expenditures, imports and exports for both the public and private sectors which affects the growth of the country. However, this was an important factor to control government income and expenditure for spending in each fiscal year. When the government adjusted the policy direction to control the country's income and expenditures to achieve balance which will allow the state to collect the taxes efficiently and result in the country's growth, state will be in better economic condition. In Buddhism, the government can apply the principles of Diṭṭhadhammikatthadhamma to increase efficiency in budget management for sufficiency included Uṭṭhānasampadā: achievement of diligence, Ārakkhasampadā: achievement of protection, Kalyāṇamittatā: association with good people, amajīvitā: living economically
