The research article titled Communication Dynamics in the Transmission of Lanna Performing Arts at Lanna Wisdom School employs a qualitative research methodology to investigate the dynamics of adaptation processes and communication patterns in the transmission of Lanna performing arts at the Lanna Wisdom School in Chiang Mai Province. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and the analysis of media employed in the transmission process.
The findings indicate that the communication dynamics of the Lanna Wisdom School comprise three key dimensions: 1) Knowledge Transmission: There has been a transition from an oral tradition system, which emphasizes Tacit Knowledge and Embodied Learning, toward an integrated communication system. Traditional wisdom has been transformed into explicit knowledge through digital media and video demonstrations to reduce the risk of knowledge loss. 2) Communication Forms and Channels: The communicative space has expanded from traditional community grounds to a Network Society via social media platforms. This transformation enables cultural communication to transcend geographical boundaries, expanding from the local to the global level. and 3) Functional Adaptation: Lanna performing arts have shifted from being integral components of spiritual rituals to becoming cultural assets under the framework of the creative economy and tourism.
Despite the integration of modern technology, the Lanna Wisdom School maintains cultural authenticity by utilizing new media only as a supportive tool. The organization continues to emphasize interpersonal communication through the traditional teacher-disciple relationship to sustain the spirit and Lanna identity within the context of a rapidly changing world.
