Abstract

The employment of disabled people in Lao PDR is not given much importance. When compared to the need to solve other problems, Lao PDR became a member of the 2006 International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of the United Nations. Later, the Disabled Persons Act was enacted, and there is an economic development plan that supports the development of disabled workers. There are government agencies at various levels supporting the development of the potential of people with disabilities, but prioritizing government administration has resulted in solutions for people with disabilities being neglected by the government sector. As a result, disabled workers are still in the same condition of having to find employment for themselves.
