Management and Conservation of Buddhist Art and Culture

Abstract

Thailand possesses a rich cultural heritage that has been passed down through its long history, from ancient times to the present day. The remaining historical sites and artworks reflect the beliefs, faith, and wisdom of the Thai people. The preservation of this heritage is supported by laws such as the Historic Sites Act B.E. 2504 (1961), which aims to protect and safeguard cultural properties, historical sites, and artistic works. Effective management and conservation of cultural heritage require systematic planning, organization, direction, and control. This includes surveying and evaluating cultural assets, as well as carrying out efficient restoration and maintenance efforts. Moreover, community collaboration and government support play vital roles in ensuring the sustainable preservation of these treasures and passing them on to future generations with pride.
