Guidelines for Sustainable Cultural Heritage Tourism Development in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Abstract

This article aims to study and propose guidelines for sustainable cultural heritage tourism development in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Using mixed research methods, both quantitative and qualitative approaches, data were collected from tourists, entrepreneurs, and relevant organizations. The findings revealed five key development guidelines: 1) conservation and restoration of historical attractions while maintaining authenticity, 2) development of environmentally friendly facilities and transportation systems, 3) promotion of local community participation in tourism management, 4) development of tourism personnel's knowledge and understanding of cultural values, and 5) marketing promotion emphasizing value addition through cultural identity. The recommendations from this research will be beneficial for planning sustainable cultural heritage tourism development in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province in the long term.
