About the Journal
Journal of Psychological Educational and Social Sciences Research (JPESS) is the official electronic journal of Department of Research and Applied Psychology, Faculty of Education, Burapha University. It is established with the following aims:
- to disseminate research results in the fields of psychology, neuroscience, educational measurement, evaluation, statistics, and social sciences
- to share academic opinions and experience amongst academic staff and students of the Faculty of Education, other institutes of Higher Education as well as outside organizations, and
- to encourage the general scholars' academic presentation in the field of psychology, neuroscience, educational measurement, evaluation, statistics, and social sciences in the form of academic articles and special articles
The journal publishes articles in English and Thai.
The journal is published every 6 months or 2 issues per year
- January-June (Issue 1)
- July-December (Issue 2)
Types of Manuscripts Published in the Journal
The journal publishes two types of manuscripts, as follows:
1) Research Article
A research article presents the results of original research conducted by the author(s). The manuscript reports systematically designed studies with clearly defined objectives, aiming to generate data, evidence, or theoretical principles that contribute to academic advancement or practical application.
A research article should include the following components: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (if applicable), and References.
2) Academic Article
An academic article aims to present general knowledge or new conceptual perspectives on a specific topic through a comprehensive review of the literature. The article is written in an analytical or critical manner or presents newly synthesized knowledge. It involves the collection, analysis, and synthesis of existing studies, along with the author’s interpretations, opinions, or recommendations, in order to enhance readers’ understanding of current developments in the field. An academic article should include the following components: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Content, Conclusion, and References.
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted for publication must be original works within the specified sub-disciplines of the journal. The submitted manuscript must not have been previously published in any journal, report, or other publication, nor be under consideration by another journal.
The Journal of Psychological, Educational, and Social Sciences Research adheres to strict ethical standards in academic publishing, particularly in preventing plagiarism. Authors are therefore required to submit a plagiarism detection report generated by recognized software such as Turnitin, Copyleaks, CopyCatch, or other acceptable plagiarism-checking programs. The plagiarism report must be submitted together with the manuscript and will be used as part of the peer-review evaluation process.
All manuscripts undergo a quality assessment through a double-blind peer review process, in which each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. Manuscripts submitted by internal authors are reviewed exclusively by external reviewers who have no conflicts of interest with the authors, ensuring rigorous and unbiased evaluation prior to publication.
If the editorial board or invited reviewers recommend revisions, the manuscript will be returned to the author(s) for revision. The editorial decision will be based primarily on the reviewers’ recommendations. The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s scope or fail to meet academic and editorial standards.
Upon publication, authors will receive a link to the published article and an official certificate of publication from the Journal of Psychological, Educational, and Social Sciences Research.
