Women: Positive Role in Buddhism

Abstract

This article maintained objectives to investigate the positively feminine roles in Buddhism as upāsikā (female lay-followers) of well acceptance.  Females played not less any roles than any males in religion   regarding the alms donors, Dhamma practitioners and much helped fostering religion (Buddhism) through patronization since His Lord Buddha’s period until today. Buddhism widely welcomed females leading to equality for all females in all social classes and castes in this religion. Females could practice dhamma and fulfill their duties of buddhisization non-different from the males. Females who were accepted by societies, and gradually growing accepted by the males. It accounted the positive roles for the females and with their positive roles were very valuable and not less latent than the males in various dimensions with regards to economy, social, politics and resource management.
