Impact of Tourism towards a Local Community at Ban Mae Jaem Community, Lampang Province

Abstract

The research aimed to (1) study the demographic character of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province, (2) study the positive impact factor of tourism had affected to Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province in a positive aspect, (3) study the positive impact factor of tourism had affected to Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province in a negative aspect. The representative sample was local people at Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province 230 samples, collected data were conducted by questionnaires, and collect data for analysis by using statistics, frequency Distributions, percentage, mean, standard deviation, hypothesistesting use analysis of statistical of One-way Anova.
The result showed that: the majority of respondents were male up to 128 samples as a percentage of 55.7, average age 40-49 up to 72 samples as a percentage of 31.3, married status up to155 samples as a percentage of 67.4, education in Bachelor's degree up to 145 samples as a percentage of 63.0, average income monthly 20,001-25,000 Baht up to 71 samples as a percentage of 33.9,
The aspect data had affected to the tourism of community in the positive aspect of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province, it had the highest level of decision in the economy, the second was the environment, culture, and society respectively.
The aspect data had affected to the tourism of community in the negative aspect of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province, it had the highest level of decision in the economy, the second was the environment, society, and culture respectively.
The hypothesis-testing 1: there was a difference in the demographic character of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province, it had affected the tourism of community in positive aspect: the difference; found that: There were differences in gender and age of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province had affected the tourism of community in a positive aspect: overall was not different and considered in each item, shown that; the difference in gender and age of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province. It had affected the tourism of community in a positive aspect: difference at statistical significance level .05. And differences in status, education, and monthly income of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province had affected the tourism of community in a positive aspect; not different both in overall and income at statistical significance level .05.
The hypothesis-testing 2: there was a difference in the demographic character of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province, it had affected the tourism of community in negative aspect: the difference; found that: There were differences in gender and age of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province had affected the tourism of community in a negative aspect: not different in both overall and income at statistical significance level .05.
Also, differences in status, education, and monthly income of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province. It had affected the tourism of community in a negative aspect; overall was not different and considered in each item, shown that; the difference in status, education, and monthly income of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province. It had affected the tourism of community in a negative aspect: difference at statistical significance level .05.
Finally, differences in the education of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province. It had affected the tourism of community in a negative aspect; overall was not different and considered in each item, shown that; the difference in the education of Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province. It had affected the tourism of community in a negative aspect, the difference; in society and culture at statistical significance level .05.
The study result on the impact of the tourism had affected to Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province, the researcher had suggestions as follows:
Due to the Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province has a lot of tourists coming to visit this affected the way of life And the values of the people in the community, therefore, Ban Mae Jaem community, Lampang Province should organize a meeting where people in the community can participate in expressing opinions on the guidelines for tourism management, both in terms of sharing the benefits received from tourism in order to allocate benefits that people in the community will receive appropriate and equal including organizing training to educate people in the community to see the importance of the way of life and traditional values of society, planning and organizing of buildings, accommodation and attractions in accordance with the culture in order to protect and conserve the original landscape to exist and develop communities to support tourism together.
