Abstract

To live at present, it is essential to earn a living in order to acquire four basic needs. Especially, with more facilities, people require factors to meet their demand. Economic problems are caused by both internal and external factors. Unsurprisingly, the change in global economy affect national economies, including Thai economy and community economy. The principle of sufficiency economy is consistent with Buddha-Dharma principles appeared in Theravada Buddhist scriptures, namely, diligence in duty, doing honest occupation, self-preservation of wealth without harm or damage, good company; having a good friend and association with a good and wise person, and incomeexpenses balance for moderate spending and savings. These principles should be complied with to live sufficiently on the basis of morality. Once all of this has been accomplished, it is possible to build up the fortune with wealth, stability and happiness in this world. There is no need to suffer because of poverty, being a debtor. The compliance with these principles is a solution for economic problems as well.
