Abstract

The study on developing word spelling achievements through compound alphabet exercises for Prathomsuksa 3 students had the following objectives: (1) to create and assess the efficiency of compound alphabet exercises for Prathomsuksa 3 students to meet the 80/80 standard criteria, and (2) to improve spelling achievements through these exercises for Prathomsuksa 3 students. The research instruments included a learning activity plan, compound alphabet exercises, and a spelling achievement test. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, mean, and standard deviation. A dependent t-test was used to compare achievement levels before and after the study. The results showed that: (1 ) The performance of the compound alphabet exercises for Prathomsuksa 3 students was effective, with an E1/E2 score of 80.37/91.26, which was higher than the set standard criterion of 8 0 / 8 0 . (2 ) A comparison of spelling achievements for Prathomsuksa 3 students after using the compound alphabet exercises showed higher post-test scores compared to pre-test scores at the .05 statistical significance level.
