Abstract

The issue of scams through call center gangs in Thailand has become increasingly severe in recent years. These gangs deceive the public via phone calls, impersonating various organizations, causing citizens to fall victim, lose their assets, and severely undermine confidence in the financial system and the security of personal data. Therefore, combating call center gangs requires improvements in both legislation and the collaboration between government agencies. Regarding the role of government agencies in controlling and combating call center gangs, there must be coordination between various agencies. This includes establishing a system for inter-agency coordination in monitoring and prosecuting offenders. Proposals to enhance legislation to improve the effectiveness of handling this issue, such as increasing penalties for offenders and updating laws related to data protection, should be considered. Moreover, it is essential to develop technological systems to aid in detecting fraudulent activities, such as using call filtering systems, verifying fake phone numbers, and developing applications to increase security in financial transactions. Public awareness and education campaigns, training, and the dissemination of fraud prevention information should also be promoted to help the public avoid becoming victims of call center gangs. Combating the problem of call center gangs requires cooperation from multiple government agencies at both the national and international levels to ensure effective monitoring and prosecution of scams. Improvements in legislation and the use of technology to prevent offenses will be key to reducing this issue and ensuring long-term security for the public.
