Abstract

This study employed a quasi-experimental research design utilizing a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. Its objectives were threefold: (1) to develop board games aimed at fostering the analytical thinking skills of Prathomsueksa two students; (2) to investigate the students' analytical thinking skills both before and after engaging with the developed board games; and (3) to examine the satisfaction levels of Prathomsueksa two students regarding the aforementioned board games. The samples consisted of 34 Prathomsueksa two students from a single classroom at Ramkhamhaeng University Demonstration School, Bang Na Campus, during the academic year 2023. These participants were selected via simple random sampling, using a drawing lots method. The research tools included: (1) board games designed to enhance analytical thinking skills, (2) a questionnaire for evaluating the quality of the board games, (3) a test measuring analytical thinking skills, and (4) a satisfaction assessment questionnaire. The research findings revealed that (1) the board games designed to promote analytical thinking skills exhibited the highest level of media quality (M = 4.69, SD = 0.43) and content quality (M = 4.81, SD = 0.31). (2) Students' analytical thinking scores after engaging with the board games were significantly higher than their scores before the intervention, with statistical significance at the .05 level. (3) Students who participated in the sessions using the board games designed to enhance analytical thinking skills reported the highest level of satisfaction (M = 4.64, SD = 0.58).
