Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop and determine the efficiency of a Thai musical notation reading instructional package based on Suzuki method and CIRC teaching technique for grade 8 students at Taphanhin school to meet the 80/80 efficiency criterion 2) to compare students' learning achievement before and after using the instructional package 3) to compare students' Thai musical notation reading skills against a 70% proficiency criterion and 4) to survey students' satisfaction. The sample consisted of 13 grade 8 students at Taphanhin school purposively selected from the Thai music club in the second semester of the 2025 academic year. The research instruments included an instructional package, a learning achievement test, a skill assessment form, and a satisfaction survey. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics including mean, percentage, standard deviation, and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The findings revealed that 1) the Thai musical notation reading instructional package achieved an efficiency of 90.38/89.23, exceeding the 80/80 criterion; and 2) post-test achievement scores were significantly higher than pre-test scores at the .05 level 3) post-test skill scores significantly surpassed the 70% criterion at the .05 level and 4) overall student satisfaction was at a high level (M = 4.31).
