This research aimed to 1) compare the local pride of prathomsuksa
3 students before and after implementing a local curriculum on Tai Yoi Cultural Heritage, and 2) investigate the students' satisfaction with the said curriculum. A mixed-methods research design was employed. The sample comprised 26 prathomsuksa 3 students at Ban Akat School, Akat Amnuai District, Sakon Nakhon Province, in the second semester of the academic year 2025, selected through simple random sampling. The research instruments consisted of a local pride assessment covering four dimensions: knowledge, appreciation, participation, and local attachment, along with a curriculum satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and paired-sample t-tests.
The findings revealed that: (1) the students' local pride after the learning intervention was significantly higher than before at the .05 level of significance, with score increases across all dimensions, particularly in appreciation and local attachment; and (2) the students' satisfaction with the curriculum was at the highest level (90.83%), with the highest satisfaction reported for learning activities and local cultural learning. In conclusion, the local curriculum on Tai Yoi Cultural Heritage not only effectively promotes local pride and provides meaningful learning experiences for students, but also serves as a vital approach to sustaining cultural identity and sustainably instilling a sense of local attachment among the youth.
